Pediatric Care
With a large pediatric patient population, our physicians are experienced in medical and surgical management of pediatric ear, nose and throat disorders. Medical and surgical intervention for hearing disorders, recurrent ear, sinus or throat infections, pediatric sleep apnea, voice and airway disorders and other diseases are available through our office.
Ear Disorders
Many patients present to our office with ear complaints including hearing loss, acute and chronic infections, dizziness, tinnitus and ear pain. Through a thorough medical examination and evaluation by our on-site audiologists, our physicians are able to diagnose and treat most ear disorders.
Surgical management is sometimes indicated and some of the offered services include myringotomy tube placement, tympanoplasty, stapedectomy, mastoidectomy, ossicular chain reconstruction, and placement of bone-anchored hearing devices.
In addition, our audiologists are experts in the fitting and dispensing of hearing aids. They are available for consultation in conjunction with or independent of a physician visit.
Voice Disorders
Our physicians handle many vocal disorders, including hoarseness, chronic cough, paralyzed vocal folds, and breathing difficulties. Patients include those with functional problems as well as professional voice users. Our physicians work closely with speech therapists to provide optimal treatment. Sometimes surgery is indicated. In those cases, our surgeons are able to perform microlaryngeal procedures as well as vocal fold augmentation and thryoplasties.
Sinus Care
Our office provides comprehensive sinus care. This includes the judicious use of medications and the proper instruction in nasal hygiene in order to treat and prevent both acute and chronic sinusitis. In addition, our physicians understand and utilize on-site allergy testing and immunotherapy (allergy injections) to treat the allergic component of sinusitis.
For those patients who fail medical management, our physicians are well trained in the surgical management of sinus disorders. We provide the latest in surgical procedures through endoscopic approaches, including the use of CT image-guided surgery when appropriate.
Allergies
In addition to sinus care, our office provides allergy evaluation and treatment. Most often people think symptoms of allergies include sneezing, runny nose, nasal stuffiness, and itchy, watery eyes. But they can also cause chronic sinus problems – postnasal drip, head congestion, frequent colds, ear infections, skin rashes and chronic headaches. We are able to test for allergies as well as institute immunotherapy (allergy injections).
Surgery for Snoring and Sleep Apnea
Sleep apnea surgery is based on the severity of the patient’s sleep apnea and his/her anatomy. These procedures can include nasal surgery (septoplasty, sinus surgery), palatal surgery (tonsillectomy, UPPP), or evaluation for oral appliances. A patient may require one or more of the above mentioned procedures. All of these surgical procedures are offered through this office.
Endoscopic Pituitary Surgery
In conjunction with the neurosurgeons, our staff performs endoscopic nasal removal of pituitary tumors. This minimally invasive technique provides for improved post-operative courses and easier recovery.
Head and Neck Cancer
Our surgeons are experienced in the diagnosis and management of head and neck tumors, both benign and malignant. Once a patient is diagnosed with cancer, treatment options include either surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or a combination of these. Our office has a close working relationship with medical and radiation oncologists in the community. Thus, multidisciplinary treatment can be accomplished.
Facial Trauma
Our surgeons participate on the multidisciplinary trauma team through Bryan Health. We assist in facial trauma coverage for the treatment of soft tissue injuries to the head and neck as well as facial fractures including nasal, orbital, frontal sinus, midfacial, mandible and laryngeal fractures.
